You can refer yourself either by telephoning or emailing me to arrange an initial session. If I have a vacancy at a time that is convenient for you, we can confirm the time and date of our first session.  I will ask you to read through my contract, which outlines how I work before our first appointment, and let me know if you have any queries about it.

The initial appointment will be an assessment.  This is a chance for us to discuss your current difficulties or areas of concern and explore what you would like from counselling.  It is important for us to meet to see whether I am the right person to work with you and ensure you feel comfortable with me.

If we both feel that counselling would be helpful and are happy to proceed we can arrange our next appointment.  We can either arrange to meet for a set number of sessions or decide that it will be open-ended with regular reviews.  You will need to sign a copy of my counselling contract and provide details of your GP.  These details are kept on file and no contact would be made with your GP without your permission except in exceptional circumstance as outlined in the counselling contract.

There is a fee for an assessment which is payable whether or not counselling proceeds.  Please contact me direct to discuss.

If you are unable to attend the session please give me at least 48 hours’ notice.
